TYRES worth a total of £4,000 were stolen during a burglary at commercial premises in Redditch.
Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the break-in at a unit off Birchfield Road on the Foxlydiate estate which happened under cover of darkness between the evening of Monday, April 28 and 8.30am the following day.
The thieves broke in via the roof and used ladders stolen from another business unit nearby the same night.
Access to the premises was gained from a public walkway leading to gated farmland.
PC Ellaine Graham said: “We know a vehicle was used by the thieves and we would ask anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity late at night there on Monday or early on Tuesday to contact us without delay.
“We would also like to hear from any businesses in the area which are offered tyres at a cheap rate and suspect they may not have come from a legitimate source.”
Anyone with information should call police at Redditch on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the incident reference 92-S-290414. If you prefer to pass on details anonymously then please contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or crimestoppers-uk.org.
