VISITORS to the Kingfisher Centre over the weekend had good cause to doubt what was in front of their eyes, especially if they caught sight of two Imperial Stormtroopers and a number of guide dogs, celebrating the growth of the Specsavers empire.
While staff raised money for Guide Dogs for the Blind, Redditch mayor Wanda King added to the unlikely guests to mark the store’s move into larger premises in the shopping centre, moving one door away to new premises twice the size.
Ian Bowers, store director for Specsavers Redditch, said: “We’re delighted that the mayor took time out of her schedule to come and officially open our new and improved store. It was a fantastic day thanks to the help of our intergalactic and furry friends.”
