HEADLESS Cross Scouts and Guides have benefitted from the generosity of the construction firm Lynx Forecourt Ltd.
The company, currently working on the Sainsbury’s development in the town, helped the youngtsers kick-start their plans for refurbishment and extension of their headquarters on Feckenham Road.
Lynx Forecourts provided the materials and two workmen for a day, free of charge, to re-build an existing doorway.
This is the first stage of the planned work by the group to provide an extended meeting hall, disabled access and new toilets for the 180 young people who participate in scouting and guiding activities in Headless Cross.
Scout and Guide management committee chairman, Mike Such, said “We would like to thank the company on behalf of our young people for the generous contribution made to our project. It has certainly helped to get our project on its way."
A spokesman for Lynx Forecourts said: “We were delighted to help get this project underway and it was wonderful to give something back to the community of Redditch."
