A SPECIAL project to help get young people on track for employment has been hailed as a success.

A five day programme delivered by Warwickshire Targeted Youth Support, took place recently in Studley.

The participants, young males from Alcester Academy and Studley High School, were picked because they could potentially end up in neither education or employment.

The week long project aimed to provide the youngsters with skills in preparation for leaving school and included team building, CV writing, job application, interview skills and practical work experience.

Since taking part two of the group have secured part-time paid employment as a direct result of the project.

Hugh Disley, Warwickshire County Council’s head of service for early intervention, presented achievement certificates to the young people who took part on the last day of the programme.
