RESIDENTS of an Alvechurch care home have shown they really do like to be beside the seaside.
Everyone at Grosvenor House recently enjoyed a traditional taste of the seaside without the trouble of travel.
A punch and Judy show, ice creams and “mocktails” in the fresh air helped residents celebrate summer with a “staycation”.
Sunhats, sandals and summer clothes were the order of the day to make Alvechurch feel closer to the coast.
A supply of sand, windbreak and deck chairs helped set the scene and residents and guests were able to dip their toes in paddling pools while sharing memories of their favourite holiday resorts.
The beach party was the latest in a series of events to entertain residents at Grosvenor House, which is owned by Alpha Care Homes.
They have already enjoyed visits by singers and a mobile zoo and plans are now being made for a Christmas fair.
