TWO people have been charged in connection with a disturbance which West Mercia Police were called to deal with in May Lane, Wythall.

Orville Darren Lee, aged 39, of May Lane, appeared before Redditch magistrates on Thursday, August 1 charged with two counts of threatening a person with a bladed or sharply pointed article in a public place.

The charges relate to an axe and a knife. He faces a further charge of witness intimidation.

Lee was committed to appear before Worcester Crown Court on November 25 and he was released on court bail with conditions including residency at an address in Handsworth, that he does not enter Hollywood, and abides by a 7pm to 7am curfew.

Lee was arrested along with a 43-year-old woman from Malton in North Yorkshire following an outbreak of disorder in May Lane on Tuesday, July 30.

The woman has been charged with obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duty and also faces a count of witness intimidation.

She has been released on police bail to appear at Redditch Magistrates Court on 20 August.

Two other men who were arrested on Tuesday night were later released without charge.
