YOUNGSTERS in Redditch are being urged to take the opportunity to work with professional actors during the summer holidays.
Thanks to arts funding, free drama workshops are being offered by professional actors throughout the six week break for young people aged seven-17 years of age, enabling young people to try out a class with Class Act Drama Centre prior to enrolment in September.
It is an ideal opportunity for those thinking of enrolling in a part-time drama school to try two classes for free, which equates to three hours tuition, and to meet directors and tutors.
All classes work towards an annual show with castings also taking place in September.
The classes will cover stage technique and confidence, improvisation, and characterisation.
Classes will take place in Redditch at Oakenshaw Community Centre in Castleditch Lane on Saturdays from 2-3.30pm. The Redditch class will be working towards an adaptation of Scrooge - A Christmas Carol.
