AFTER months of preparation and build up from 14,000 contractors and suppliers, the CLA Game Fair at Ragley Hall is finally opening its doors this weekend to an expected 144,000 visitors.

Over the three days of the Game Fair, people will be able to see everything from sheepdog demonstrations and farriers at work, to wild food cookery demonstrations, and sporting displays.

There’s also the chance to get hands on tips on how to smoke food at home, find out more about small scale wind energy, try out clay pigeon shooting and fishing, or handle a ferret at one of the hundreds of stands, stalls and displays.

The CLA Game Fair last came to the 6.500 acre Ragley estate in 2010, and this time round, visitors will see more of the colour of Alcester as the Court Leet process through the fair, performing a special assizes in full regalia, tasting the fish and flesh on offer, and testing leather goods at the various stalls.

Tickets for the Game Fair are £26 in advance or £30 on the day for Friday, and £21 in advance or £25 on the day for Saturday or Sunday. For more information, visit gamefair.co.uk.
