A WORCESTERSHIRE-based charity is calling for more volunteers to help with its work in Redditch and Bromsgrove.
Mentor Link, which provides volunteer mentors to listen to, support and befriend young people in the Redditch and Bromsgrove area, aims to help create a more positive attitude towards learning, and build self-confidence.
The charity is looking for volunteers to help out in several Redditch schools including Kingsley college, St Augustine’s Roman Catholic High School, Birchensale Middle School, St. Bede’s Roman Catholic Middle School, Church Hill Middle School and Ipsley CofE RSA Academy.
The charity tries to use volunteers from the local community to strengthen links with the various schools involved, and they are particularly keen to speak to people involved in large businesses who might be able to give young people an idea of what would be expected of them by modern employers.
The charity provides full training for mentors, and asks for a commitment of six months volunteering.
