A REDDITCH school has been officially recognised as the most improved school in the country.

Trinity HIgh School, based in Easemore Road in the town centre, received the accolade in the latest secondary school league tables.

In 2009, Trinity’s five A*-C pass rate including English and maths stood at just 32 per cent, this rose to 51 per cent in 2010, in 2011 it had jumped to a respectable 60 per cent, and for 2012, this figure had risen dramatically to a superb pass rate of 80 per cent.

Marian Barton, Trinity headteacher, said: “As a school we are extremely delighted and proud to be acknowledged as the most improved school in the country.

“This improvement has been down to a huge team effort where every single member of staff has worked extremely hard to ensure that every student in the school gets the best possible educational experience.

“Our students have worked hard to meet the high expectations that their teachers have set and parents and carers have played an important role in supporting their children on a day to day basis.“

And Barry Prever, the chair of governors at Trinity, said: “This is not a coincidence, but a result of outstanding leadership from the headteacher and her leadership team, together with hard work and dedication from a fantastic staff.“
