OUR annual meeting in December was followed by a fantastic demonstration by six talented members; Janet Corrigan, Pam Gattas, Jean Govier, Joy Mason, Sue Savage and Lesley Vanezis, who all demonstrated a Christmas-themed arrangement simultaneously.

The demonstration was compered by our e-media officer, Chris Harten, who spoke to each designer in turn as they constructed their designs, and talked us through what containers, flowers, foliage and accessories they were using, and answered questions. Chris also gave us some information about the foliage being used and how to propagate certain plants. This was a new idea for us which proved very successful and we all had a very enjoyable afternoon, with many members wanting a repeat performance next year. After the demonstration, members and visitors were treated to a Christmas buffet provided by the committee. On the website is a slideshow of our demonstrators’ designs.

Our February meeting will be on the 21st at 2.15pm at All Saints Church Hall. We welcome back national demonstrator Jayne Edmonds, whose demonstration will be “It's A Kind Of Magic”. Jayne has demonstrated for us in the past and we look forward to seeing her brilliant skills again. After the demonstration there will be a raffle of the arrangements and tea and coffee. This month’s flower arrangement competition will be “Keep it Simple”. (Five flowers or less). There will also be the usual flower of the month competition when members may enter a flower from their own garden.

Entrance fee is £5 for visitors.
