A REDDITCH school has signed up to take part in a charity world record breaking attempt for the most people signing and singing simultaneously.
Pupils at Walkwood Middle School on Feckenham Road will participate in the sign2sing event, which has been organised by the charity SignHealth, on February 6.
Steve Powell, chief executive at SignHealth, which is the national healthcare charity for deaf people, said: “Our Guinness World Records sign2sing project is an attempt to break the world record for the most people singing and signing a song at the same time.
“More than 800 schools have signed up so far and we’re delighted Walkwood C of E Middle School is involved in the event too.”
Earlier this year 114,277 children took part in SignHealth’s sign2sing 2012 event, including pupils from Redditch, and smashed the world record. The previous record was 94,489.
This will be SignHealth’s third sign2sing event and the charity is hoping to involve more than 175,000 youngsters.
Schools wishing to take part should register interest at sign2sing.org.uk.
