Linda Joyce Jeays (née Savage)

JEAYS Linda Joyce (née Savage) Passed away September 10th, 2023 after a battle with cancer. She is survived by her beloved son, Mark. Born in Redditch on June 27th, 1944, she grew up in nearby Alcester. She immigrated to Canada in 1968 and taught at Hillcrest and Bell High Schools in Ottawa. She wrote extensively, with many articles and poems published in newspapers and magazines. An avid lover of nature and gardening, she used her observations as inspiration for her poetry in Trail & Landscape. In the early 2000s she began to study butterflies intensively. She was very proud to have received the 2006 Anne Hanes Natural History Award from the Ottawa Field-Naturalists' Club for her independent study into the Eastern Tailed Blue.
