RESIDENTS are being invited to a unique one woman show about the life and music of Vesta Tilley.

Performed by actress and singer Claire Worboys the show is about Worcester’s very own Wonder of the Music Halls.

It aims to delight and enchant the audience as well as give a historically accurate insight into Vesta, one of the most remarkable female entertainers that has ever lived.

Born in Worcester in 1864, she became an international superstar, equally famous on both sides of the Atlantic.

She always appeared on stage dressed as a man, although ironically, she did a great deal to further the cause of the women’s emancipation.

The show is at Redditch’s Palace Theatre on Friday, October 14 with tickets costing £10.
