FOLLOWING the closure of Redditch Youth House people are being invited to a public meeting to discuss plans for the building.
The meeting, organised by campaign group The Redditch Youth and Community Enterprise (RYCE), will see people being asked what they would like to happen to the building, on Ipsley Street.
It will be a chance to find out how to get involved in the group’s aim to provide a home for sports clubs, youth groups, community groups and children’s clubs, left homeless by the closure of the centre.
Ray Groves, chairman of RYCE, said: “We think there is a bright future for the Youth House and it could do a lot more for Redditch people than it ever did in the past.
“We want to set up a cooperative community group to take over the building and to run it for the benefit of the whole of the town.
“It has been done in towns all over the country so why not in Redditch.”
The public meeting is later tonight Wednesday, January 23 at 6pm in Redditch Town Hall.
