It was a great night for Emmerdale at the Inside Soap Awards as the TV favourite took home a whopping eight awards.
Michael Parr, who plays Ross Barton in the ITV soap, said he was “over the moon” to win four awards at the ceremony.
The 29-year-old star won Best Actor, Best Bad Boy, Sexiest Male and Best Affair for the explosive storyline with Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb).
“Being nominated is one thing, but to win it. Especially when all the other soaps have had such a strong year,” Michael said.
Meanwhile, Charlie Hardwick and Chris Chittell took home Best Partnership for their portrayal of Val and Eric Pollard.
“It feels great,” said Charlie. “We’ve loved working together and it looks like other people have loved us working together too.”
The Inside Soap Awards, held at DSTRKT in London’s West End, celebrates the best of the past year in soaps and is the only soap awards voted for entirely by fans.
Elsewhere, Alison King won Best Actress for playing Carla Connor in Coronation Street, EastEnders took home the prize for Best Shock Twist thanks to the Bobby Beale killing Lucy Beale storyline and long-time Neighbours actress Jackie Woodburne, who plays Susan Kennedy, won Best Daytime Star.
Jennifer Metcalfe, who plays Mercedes McQueen in Hollyoaks, wore an eye-catching red dress with daring neckline to the ceremony and said it was “amazing” and “so flattering” to win the award for Sexiest Female.
