ROCKERS Reef are back for a UK tour to confirm their triumphant return to the music scene.

The tour will feature a gig in Wolverhampton, territory familiar to Reef frontman Gary Stringer who is a dedicated fan of the city’s Premiership football club.

The Base Sessions caught up with Gary pitchside at Molineux, the Wolves’ home ground for a chat about Reef’s return to music’s big leagues.

The band became a major force in the late 90’s with hit singles and albums following on from support slots with big names including The Rolling Stones.

In 2004 the four-piece decided to take a break but earlier this year returned to the stage after some cajoling from their manager.

The band say the gigs, including an appearance at the Galstonbury Festival, were some of their best so it is no shock they decided to keep up the momentum with more live shows.

Reef first grabbed the nation’s attention in 1995 when Sony used their song Naked for a major TV advertising campaign.

Naked was taken from Reef’s gold selling debut album Replenish which was followed up in 1997 by Glow, an album which contained possibly their best-known single - Place Your Hands.

Reef, featuring their full original line up, will be playing at Wolverhampton’s Wulfrun Hall on Friday December 3.
