First time to the market is this well-presented family home. Situated on the outskirts of Ashbury with wonderful views to the rear.

A property has never been on the open market, and this beautifully presented home has been lovingly maintained by the family for over 60 years. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac of similar houses on the outskirts of the popular village of Ashbury, the property benefits from gated driveway parking, a large well-maintained garden, and stunning views over open countryside beyond.

Upon entering you are greeted by brick-built porch / sunroom which leads through to an inner hall with stairs to the first floor. The kitchen / diner sits to the rear of the home and is fitted with a range of floor and wall mounted units, a large walk-in pantry, and a door out to the garden with access to a w/c and boiler room. The sitting room is exceptionally bright, being dual aspect with a working central fireplace and a lovely outlook to the front and rear.

Upstairs are three good size bedrooms with the larger two boasting stunning views across fields right up to Faringdon. The master also has built in wardrobes and a feature fireplace and all the bedrooms are serviced by a family bathroom.

Outside to the front of the home is a lawned garden bordered by a beach hedge and driveway parking for several vehicles. The rear garden is simply beautiful. There is a large patio area ideal for summer barbeques and alfresco dining. This leads on to a vegetable bed, wild-flower bed and rose bush area surrounded by fruit trees. Towards the end of the garden is a good-size lawn backing onto open fields with several sheds and a greenhouse.

Ashbury is a charming village, dating back to at least AD 840 and steeped in history, close to the famous White Horse Hill at Uffington, and part of a wildlife conservation area. It has a public house, the Rose and Crown Hotel (which includes a post office), a Church of England primary school and a village shop with tea room. The parish church of St Mary was originally Norman but was rebuilt in the 13th century. Here, the first Sunday School in England was founded in 1777 which developed into what became Church Aided Primary School education. Ashbury Mission Hall was a "tin tabernacle" building of corrugated iron opened in 1908. The building was replaced in 1972-73 with the present Ashbury Evangelical Free Church. Ashdown House, built in about 1660 and now run by the National Trust, is about two miles south of the village.

Nearby Shrivenham (c. 4 miles) is one of the larger villages in the Vale and has a number of shops, restaurants, public houses and a doctors' surgery as well as a primary school and Church of England and Methodist churches.

Ashbury is well located for access to the M4 motorway (c. 7 miles) and Swindon has mainline rail services.
