WORCESTERSHIRE ace Travis Head warmed up for the One Day International (ODI) Series by hitting a century in Australia’s 101-run win over Middlesex at Lord’s.

Head went in first and amassed 106 of his side's 283 for six after the tourists had elected to bat.

The 24-year-old added 114 in 26 overs for the second wicket with Shaun Marsh (49) and 89 in 15 overs for the fourth with Aaron Finch (54).

Head struck nine boundaries in his 141-ball knock before he was fourth out at 239 – caught behind off leg spinner and compatriot Nathan Sowter.

Middlesex were bowled out for 182 in reply with opener Max Holden top-scoring with a run-per-ball 71 containing eight boundaries.

He added 61 for the fourth wicket with Hilton Cartwright but the 2016 county champions were bowled out with nine overs remaining.

Head played in Worcestershire’s opening five Specsavers County Championship matches and first four Royal London One-Day Cup games.

He is due back at New Road in early July after the completion of the ODI Series against England and a mini T20 Series in Zimbabwe.

After coming back to county action, Head is set to up join Australia A for a tour of India in August.
