ENGLAND Under-19s have called Hampshire all-rounder Josh McCoy into their squad as a replacement for Worcestershire's Josh Tongue for the first of two four-day matches against Sri Lanka which starts at Fenner’s in Cambridge on Tuesday.

Tongue who has been withdrawn as a precaution after feeling soreness in his back following the two-day match against a Unicorns XI in Loughborough last week.

He has returned to Worcestershire for scans, and the England management will wait for the results before making decisions over his fitness for the second four-day match in Northampton, followed by a three-match Royal London One-Day Series.

Tongue had impressed in the first innings of the drawn match against the Unicorns with figures of 3-11 from 10 overs after taking the new ball.

The four other Worcestershire players in Josh Dell, Zen Malik, Ben Twohig and Ollie Westbury are all part of the squad for the four-day game.

McCoy, who plays for Havant, attends Millfield School and impressed for an Invitational XI against the Sri Lankans in their warm-up match in Loughborough, will link up with the squad in Cambridge on Monday.
