MOEEN Ali is relishing his return to county cricket with Worcestershire on Sunday - just three weeks after playing in front of 66,000 people in the ICC World T20 final.

The all-rounder was part of the England side beaten by the West Indies at Eden Gardens, Kolkata in a dramatic finale to the game.

It is fair to say there will be a less frenzied atmosphere at Bristol when Moeen is part of the County side taking on Gloucestershire in the Specsavers County Championship.

But Moeen still gets a big buzz from playing for Worcestershire and insists it is not difficult to switch back from international to domestic cricket.

He said: "When I played for England, I said I wasn't going to be someone who came back and was going to moan about county cricket or anything like that.

"I think it is amazing and it is actually sometimes a little bit harder to come and play in county cricket in the conditions and with not many people watching and stuff.

"It's not hard. You know your job - and your job is to help win games for Worcestershire. I can't wait to get playing."

Moeen, who is available for the next three Championship matches, can expect to move back up the order with Worcestershire after becoming established in the number eight role with his country.

He said: "I'm very excited to go back up to the top of the order ad hopefully score some runs like I've done previously and contribute with the ball and the bat as much as I can."

With tours of the UAE to face Pakistan, then South Africa before the ICC T20 in India, Moeen has spent little time in England this winter.

He said: "It's been tough but it has been worth it. You are playing for England. It is tough because you don't get spend time at home but it's part of the job and you've got to keep going.

"There are quite a few of us in the same boat and we keep each other going and we enjoy each other's company and the winters actually go quite quick in the end.

"You look back and think 'it's gone all of a sudden'. Now we are looking forward to the summer and then the next winter."
