STRIKER Justin Richards is set to get another chance to impress Worcester City against Evesham United tonight (7.45).

The Conference North side travel to the Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium for their latest pre-season friendly with question marks still hanging over their strike-force.

Mike Symons is the only recognised front man on the books after returning to the club for a second spell from from Oxford City.

Last season’s leading scorer Daniel Nti has told manager Carl Heeley he wants to go full-time and has had trials with Nuneaton Town and Wrexham, playing for the Dragons in a 4-1 defeat to Everton on Wednesday.

Ethan Moore, who scored 12 goals last term, has been involved throughout pre-season but has yet to sign for the new campaign.

Although nobody has yet made a move for Nti, with any new club needing to pay compensation for the 21-year-old, Heeley is looking at replacements.

Richards, who was last with Tamworth in the Conference Premier, scoring once in 18 appearances, played in Tuesday’s 1-1 warm-up draw at Redditch United and is poised to get another outing against the Robins.

The Worcester boss said: “Nobody has tried to negotiate compensation with us for Daniel but if nothing happens prior to the season then he would be foolish to not play football and he might as well play for us.

“But on the flip side we have got to look at alternative options and we have been doing that.

“We have known about Justin’s availability for a while. He’s got a good pedigree and is local and he’s keen to have an opportunity with us.

“It was his first 90 minutes of pre-season on Tuesday and he tired in the last hour-hour, which was to be expected.

“We will probably have another look at him tonight and see where it goes from there.”
