WORCESTERSHIRE under 15s lost by 42 runs in their ECB County Cup quarter-final with Nottinghamshire at Kidderminster.

Notts were reduced to 13-3 thanks to one wicket for Henry Marshall and Peter Clark plus a run out.

Then a quick three-wicket burst from Aaron Tomson maintained the County’s supremacy.

Raheem Ahmed came to Notts' rescue with an unbeaten 50 and added an unbroken 73 with George Blatherwick (23no).

Tomson finished with 3-27 alongside accurate spells from Marshall, Clark and Charlie Greening.

The County were reduced to 9-2 before Dan Meredith (31) and Luke Talacz (28) added 55 for the third wicket.

But after their stand was broken regular wickets fell.
