WORCESTERSHIRE Rapids have named an unchanged squad for their penultimate NatWest T20 Blast encounter of the season with Lancashire Lightning at Emirates Old Trafford tomorrow night (6.30pm).
Director of cricket Steve Rhodes has named the 11 players who came close to completing a double over North Group leaders Notts Outlaws in the 11-run loss on Sunday plus paceman Pat Brown.
Brown, George Scrimshaw and Josh Tongue have been rotated in recent games as the young pace trio have gained invaluable experience of the short format of the game that will stand them in good stead for the future.
Second-from-bottom Rapids may not be able to qualify for the knockout stages but Rhodes says they will still be striving to end the 2017 T20 campaign on a winning note.
He said: “We’ve got a couple of games left and want to get maximum points in those two games. That’s the way we want to play.”
The two sides will hope for better fortunes with the weather in Manchester than at New Road when the game was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
Lancashire are third from bottom in the table but only two points off the top four who qualify for the last eight.
Lightning skipper Steven Croft said: "We’ve got two games left. We’ll have to win them and hope for some favours from elsewhere.”
The match will be televised live on Sky Sports.
Rapids then wrap up their T20 Blast campaign on Friday against Derbyshire Falcons at Derby's 3aaa County Ground (7pm).
Rapids from: Clarke, Cox, Santner, Mitchell, D’Oliveira, Whiteley, Leach, Barnard, Hepburn, Tongue, Scrimshaw, Brown.
