STEVE Rhodes says Worcestershire duo Josh Dell and George Scrimshaw can only reap the benefits of working with Andy Flower when on England Young Lions duty during the next few days in Dubai.

Former England senior coach Flower has been working for the past few weeks with the England Lions - including Worcestershire batsman Joe Clarke - in the UAE.

But, whereas the Lions returned home on Sunday evening, Flower has remained to pass on his vast knowledge to the Young Lions - including batsman Dell and paceman Scrimshaw - at their training camp at the ICC Academy.

Rhodes has first hand knowledge himself of Flower's qualities from working with him when part of the England Lions coaching set-up himself last winter in the UAE for the T20 and 50 over series with Pakistan 'A'.

Worcestershire's director of cricket Rhodes said: "Any young player, as well as coaches, who spend time with Andy Flower quickly realise what a fantastic cricket brain he has got and certainly a person to listen to because he is a very wise bloke when it comes to cricket.

"He knows it inside out and is an excellent coach who was very successful for England.

"So for the young lads to have exposure to his thoughts and his cricket brain is going to be terrific for them, particularly Josh Dell as a batter.

"Why wouldn't you be hanging on every word that Andy would say?

"Did I learn a lot from him last winter? Definitely. He enjoyed the fact that I'd been involved in developing predominantly young English teams in county cricket.

"He was interested in some of the things we do here but also for me, to observe in such close quarters a bloke who has handled teams at the highest level, was a great experience for me.

"To watch him, to monitor him, to learn from him, to filter through the stuff I felt could be beneficial to Worcestershire and myself, that was a great experience in the same way as I did with Trevor Bayliss with England in Bangladesh last month - as well as the other coaches.
