MOEEN Ali was dismissed cheaply on the final day as England went down by 246 runs in the second Test against India in Visakhapatnam.

The Worcestershire all-rounder defied the Indian attack for 31 deliveries for two runs batting at number five before succumbing to spinner Ravindra Jadeja.

A delivery bounced and gripped out of the footholds and the ball looped off a thick inside edge to Virat Kohli at backward short leg.

Moeen was fourth out at 101 to the last ball of the 71st over and England were eventually bowled out for 158 in 97.3 overs.

Only Joe Root (25) and Jonny Bairstow (34 not out) reached double figures of the batsmen in the middle today after yesterday's sterling efforts by openers Alastair Cook and Haseeb Hameed.

Moeen - man of the match in the first Test - picked up four wickets during the game to take his Test tally to 96.

England will now look to bounce back in the third Test at Mohali which gets underway on November 26.
