FORMER Worcestershire star Kabir Ali cracked the winning runs for Wellington Legends in a T20 challenge against Worcestershire Rapids in Shropshire last night.

The Wellington side included Kabir’s cousin Kadeer Ali and former Australian Test opener Chris Rogers.

The match was part of Worcestershire skipper Daryl Mitchell’s benefit season.

Kabir hit the winning runs with two sixes to give Wellington a five-wicket win in the 16th over after Worcestershire had been dismissed for 172.

Kadeer top-scored with 47 off 27 balls for Wellington, while Ben Cox hitting 72 from 44 balls for Worcestershire.

Adam Shantry turned out for Wellington and lined up against his brother Jack Shantry, who was playing for Rapids.
