TOM Fell has set his sights on an eventual return to first team action with Worcestershire after being given the all clear in his battle against cancer.

Fell, the County's leading run-scorer in the County Championship last summer, is playing in the current three-day Second Eleven Championship match with Northants which got underway at Kidderminster on Tuesday.

He made his comeback in Monday's pair of T20 matches against the same opponents at New Road.

Fell is also anticipating playing in the three-day fixture with Gloucestershire Seconds at Cheltenham College next week from May 30 to June 1.

Fell, who also played two matches for his club side Wolverhampton at the weekend, said: "I just want to crack on with the summer really and get myself back playing in the Seconds and hopefully in the Firsts before not too long.

"I'm playing all of this week for the Seconds this week and then the week after against Gloucestershire Seconds at Cheltenham.

"The idea is to play as much second team cricket as it takes to get back into the first team.

"I'll have to do quite a bit of fitness work but hopefully that won't take too long. It will be a case of doing a little bit extra running and gym work.

"It will be more about spending some time at the crease as well.

"I was a little bit rusty to begin with but I've actually found when I have batted that I've felt pretty good and almost feel ready to score big runs again."
