TOM Heathcote is due to meet with director of rugby Alan Solomons next week with his Worcester Warriors future expected to be on the agenda.

The Scottish stand-off is back to full fitness with Warriors after recovering from a long bout of concussion.

But Heathcote’s contract runs out at the end of the season and has seen Solomons strengthen the fly-half department with the signings of Duncan Weir and Jono Lance.

With Jamie Shillcock starting six of their last seven games at number 10 and Ryan Mills and new signing Scott van Breda able to move into that position Solomons will have plenty of options next term.

But Warriors’ chief is understood to be looking to have another out-and-out fly-half to call upon in case of injuries.

And he could be tempted to retain the services of Heathcote who will be aiming to bounce back after a torrid 18 months.

The 26-year-old has suffered a succession of blows to the head since being knocked unconscious in Warriors’ clash with Brive in October 2016.

He made his first appearance in more than five months when he came off the bench in Worcester Cavaliers’ win over Wasps A earlier this month.

“Tom’s had his problems with concussion,” said Solomons when asked whether he had held contract talks with Heathcote.

“Him and I are due to have a chat which we will probably have during the course of next week.

“I want to talk to him generally so I don’t want to pre-empt anything to be perfectly honest so we will have a chat.”

Fly-half Dorian Jones has also expressed his interest in extending his stay after joining the club on loan from Dragons until the end of the campaign.

The Welshman, son of ex-Worcester player Kingsley Jones, started in Warriors’ 30-15 defeat at Wasps and is set to keep hold of the jersey for tomorrow’s battle with Harlequins at Sixways (3pm).
