WARRIORS.

8 Pennell – scored the all-important points for Warriors and although he missed an easier attempt at goal the full-back was resolute in defence.

8 Heem – put in double-digit figures for tackles as he did well to stop Woodburn from scoring in the corner and was solid in all aspects of his game.

7 Willison – squandered Warriors’ best chance of the game to score a try as he passed to an Exeter player after being found in space but kept plugging away.

8 MILLS – did not miss a tackle all afternoon in a gutsy display, showing his leadership qualities as he directed his side around the field. My man of the match.

7 Hammond – missed a tackle on Waldrom who almost made him pay for it but was otherwise stubborn in defence and industrious in attack.

7 Shillcock – was guilty of kicking out of hand too often with some of them lacking direction but considering he’s only 20 years old he did a superb job.

8 Hougaard – also kicked the ball away a lot but his box-kicking did the trick on a windy day at Sandy Park and was sharp around the breakdown and a rock in defence.

7 Waller – Warriors came under pressure in the scrum at times but the loosehead prop more than held his own and made some useful metres too.

8 Singleton – although he had a tough time finding his man at the lineout the hooker completed the joint-highest amount of tackles (15) along with van Velze.

7 Schonert – after a slow start the fit-again prop was an asset to Warriors at scrum time causing Exeter’s Moon to buckle on a couple of occasions.

7 O’Callaghan – saw plenty of the ball in the opening period, linking up well in attack before being forced off at half-time with a head injury.

7 Barry – stepping in for the ill-stricken Spencer at the last minute, the lock missed a couple of tackles but came agonisingly close to crossing the whitewash.

7 Fa’osiliva – made the odd handling error but his strength and power added to Warriors’ defensive effort, putting in some huge hits.

8 Lewis – was an absolute warrior as he put his body on the line for his team and notably helped to bring down big number eight Waldrom after he powered through.

8 van Velze – another strong contender for man of the match as he tackled hard and played a key role in a disciplined and determined display.
