HOOKER Jack Singleton looks set to win his first Test cap after being named on the bench for England’s clash with Argentina in San Juan tomorrow (8.15pm).

The Worcester Warriors front row was a late call-up to England’s squad for the tour to South America.

Singleton could come face to face with former Sixways team-mate Gus Creevy, the experienced hooker, who is skippering the Pumas.

Singleton, 21, made his first senior appearance for England last month in the non-cap match against the Barbarians at Twickenham.

It has been remarkable seven months for Singleton, who made his Aviva Premiership bow for Worcester against Northampton Saints in November.

Singleton made 20 first-team appearances for Warriors last term, including 10 in the Premiership.

Earlier this year Singleton penned a professional deal with Worcester for next season.

England are without 15 of their leading players who are on tour with the British and Irish Lions in New Zealand.

They have 30 players unavailable in total for the tour.

Former Worcester Warriors youngster Dylan Hartley captains England in his 85th cap.

The Pumas last played when the teams clashed at Twickenham seven months ago with Eddie Jones's England side winning 27-14.

Jones said: “I’m really excited about this England team.

“I have selected a group of experienced players across the spine of this team as well as four young players who will be eager to go out and play well on their debuts for England.

“Those players have worked extremely hard to get selected over the last few weeks, but I have been impressed with the way the whole squad has trained and gelled together in a short amount of time.

“We are here to win this series 2-0 but we know Argentina will be extremely tough opposition."

The teams have been drawn in the same 2019 World Cup group.

They will meet in a second Test in Santa Fe next Saturday (815pm) and also face each other in London in November.
