FECKENHAM were left fully frustrated after losing out 1-0 to local rivals Fairfield Villa in Midland League Two.

Lewis Smith's spectacular first half strike ultimately separated the sides but Feckenham had their fair share of chances to claim the points.

Villa goalkeeper Chris Mole kept Feckenham at bay in the first as George Tolley twice went close while both Adam Garmson and Dan Murphy had chances well saved.

Feckenham could have snatched a late equaliser when Jordan Adams sent a powerful header inches wide of the Villa goal.

Afterwards Feckenham assistant manager Tom Davies said: "I was bitterly disappointed to walk away with nothing. Every single one of my lads put in 100 per cent and came off the pitch with nothing left to give."

Feckenham have another local derby on their hands this week when they entertain Redditch Borough in the Les James Challenge Cup quarter finals.
