IMPRESSIVE Alcester Town produced one of their best displays of the season as they sunk Castle Vale 5-0 in Midland League Division Three.
Player-manager Danny Janes had a few selection posers ahead of the game will a full squad to pick from.
Alcester made all the early running and soon built a 2-0 lead through goals from Robbie Davies and Leon Blundell.
A third goal followed before half time when Brad Daw was brought down and skipper Keiran Downey converted the following penalty.
Once Alcester found their rhythm in the second half, they soon put the game to bed with Davies slotting in their fourth goal before substitute Joe Shaw made an immediate impact on his arrival, cutting inside to crack home a glorious fifth goal.
A delighted Janes said: "We outplayed the opposition. We have a great team spirit at the moment and the lads on the bench showed a fantastic attitude. As a manager, it's great when you have so much quality to bring on."
Alcester travel to West Midlands League side Darlaston Town this Saturday in the second round of the Birmingham Vase.
