St Neots Town 1, Redditch United 3

Redditch United moved to within three points of league leaders Poole after coming back from conceding an early goal to comfortably beat hosts St Neots Town.

The home side took a 22nd minute lead but two goals in four minutes from Jamey Osborne and Jordan Cullinane-Liburd turned the contest, Jazz Luckie coming off the bench to add a third late on.

Redditch keeper Jose Viega denied Dipo Akinyemi but Redditch were soon on top, George Carline and Ashley Sammons both going close, before Carline saw a shot cleared off the line from a corner.

However it was the hosts who struck first as the Reds failed to clear their lines and Adam Tann headed past Veiga from close range.

The lead only lasted seven minutes as Osborne levelled in style, the Reds skipper picking the ball up 25 yards from goal and unleashing a powerful strike that went in via the post.

And four minutes later they led, Culliane-Liburd firing in after James Mutton’s initial header from a corner had been saved.

Will Richards saw a header saved before the break and Robbie Thompson-Brown had a strike deflected onto the post shortly after the interval.

As the half wore on, Shearer rounded the Saints keeper but was unable to get a shot away whilst Drew Roberts’ header hit the bar for the hosts.

Redditch always looked in control though and after Richards had headed over, two substitutes combined to seal the win five minutes from time, Jamie Molyneux’s low cross turned in by a sliding Luckie at the far post.

Reds: Veiga, 7, Cullinane-Liburd 8, Mutton 7, Richards 7, Flanagan 6, Carline 7, Loveridge 7, OSBORNE 8, Thompson-Brown 7 (Johnson 82), Shearer 6 (Luckie 45, 7), Sammons 7 (Molyneux 68, 7).
