REDDITCH United have insisted midfielder Jamey Osborne will only leave for another club on their terms.

The Valley Stadium outfit are braced for bids for the former Hednesford Town playmaker, who has been attracting lots of attention from Vanarama National League and Football League clubs.

Osborne joined the Reds in the summer from the Pitmen but United had to pay their Midlands rivals a four figure compensation fee because of the Bosman Ruling.

Redditch do not want to lose the midfielder, who was a target for Halifax in the summer, but also do not want a repeat of Jermaine Hylton's departure to Swindon Town for nothing.

United are in a much better position with Osborne on a contract until the end of the 2015-16 campaign.

Manager Liam McDonald said: "We don't want Jamey to go but we know that a lot of clubs from League One and Two have watched him.

"The good thing is he's contracted to us so we can sit down with any clubs making a bid and do what's best for Redditch and Jamey."

Meanwhile, McDonald hailed two-goal hero Jazz Luckie after he inspired United to a 3-1 win over Merthyr Tydfill on Saturday.

The former Alvechurch man had been playing at Stafford Rangers, Boldmere Rangers and Tividale this season.

McDonald said: "Jazz is a good player and he made an immediate impact.

"Ever since Jermaine Hylton left the club, there has been a certain expectation on new forwards but Jazz is an experienced guy.

"He's also grateful to be here and be given a chance at this level."

Victory over Merthyr saw United bounce back from their Boxing Day loss to Stratford and saw them return to the top five."

They go to relegation battling Bideford on Saturday (3pm ko).

McDonald added: "I think some of the negativity after the Stratford loss was a bit harsh.

"We've been on an 11-game unbeaten run although we had drawn five games in a row, but we're in a great place in the league."

United are also aiming to bolster their forward options by signing striker Danico Johnson from Hednesford Town.
