LIAM McDonald says re venge isn’t on the menu when Redditch United face Evesham in the FA Trophy.

The Reds make the trip to the Jubilee Stadium aiming to take their excellent South - ern League Premier form into a cup competition.

United were knocked out of the FA Cup last season by the Robins, who won a replay at the Valley Stadium.

“Evesham are not that far away from us in terms of league position and they are a good side,” said McDonald.

“They knocked us out of the FA Cup last year but it’s not about revenge, it’s about win - ning games and progressing.

“We’ve not really had a good run in the FA Cup or Trophy, so it would be nice to go far.”

Redditch have a number of injury worries, with midfield playmaker Jamey Osborne set for a month out after dis - locating his shoulder in Saturday’s win over Dorchester.

Jamie Ashmore and Simeon Maye are both long-term injury absences, while reserve team player Matt Fearon has also picked up a knock.

McDonald was pleased with United’s winning knack after George Carline and Luke Shearer scored to sink Dorchester last Saturday.

He said: “The thing is at the moment when the games are close I am confident we can emerge as the winners.

“We’re not perhaps playing the most attractive style at the moment, but it’s about winning games of football.

“We set the players a target after 17 games and we have managed to achieve that and it’s about setting our goals out again and keeping our form going.”
