REDDITCH United manager Liam McDonald is hoping to bring in one more high profile addition to complete his squad rebuilding ahead of the 2015-16 season.

McDonald has had a busy summer revamping his squad playing staff and has brought in promising additions such as Will Richards, Jordan Archer and Daniel Dubidat.

But he also wants to bring in a midfielder with a knack for scoring goals to replace Ashley Sammons, who made the switch to Corby Town this summer.

McDonald is thought to be closing in on a loan deal with a full-time club.

He said: “I am very hopeful that the deal will be done very soon.

“If it all goes through, then the squad is there and I am very happy with the players we’ve got at our disposal.

“I genuinely believe that Daniel Dubidat will be one of the best strikers in the Southern Premier and we’ve also got Will Richards and Jamie Ashmore.”

United have also drafted in former Evesham United and Reds striker Jermaine Clarke as a fitness and conditioning coach to assist the manager and as well as assistants David Bridgwater and Nick Green.

United step up their preparations for the new season when their friendly programme commences on Saturday at Pershore Town.

Redditch then go to Sutton Town on Tuesday (7.45pm ko) and next Thursday take on Droitwich Spa (7.30pm ko).

On July 18, United play Stourbridge at home in the Worcestershire Senior Cup semi-final (3pm ko). If they go through, then Redditch will tackle Kidderminster Harriers on July 21, alternatively they are at home to Highgate United.

The Senior Cup final is at Aggborough on Saturday, July 25 but if Redditch are not involved then entertain Alvechurch.

On Tuesday, July 28, they are at home to Pilkington (7.45pm ko) and then end complete pre-season on August 1 at home to Solihull Moors.
