REDDITCH United manager Liam McDonald wants his side to break through the 70 point margin in the Southern League Premier.

The Valley Stadium outfit are currently seventh in the league on 69 points with a faint chance of making the play-offs.

United, who bounced back with a 2-0 win over Burnham on Saturday, need to defeat Biggleswade in their final home game of the season and Arlesey and hope that St Neots and Weymouth slip-up to make the top five.

St Neots play Chippenham and Frome, while Weymouth have three games remaining and play Corby, Poole and Biggleswade.

McDonald said: "We'll be going out to win this game.

"One of our top targets was to break through the 70 point mark, so to be in a position to do so with two games to go is fantastic.

"We're still in with a chance of making the play-offs but all we can do is try and win four final two games and see where we finish.

"Normally at this stage of the season it's about avoiding relegation, but this time we're still pushing for promotion, so it has been a very good season."

McDonald was also very pleased with the response of his players as they ended a four-game winless streak by defeating Burnham, with goals for Serigne Mor Diop and and Ashley Sammons on target.

The manager added: "I was very proud of my players, we started, well scored two goals and then played in a very mature and professional way.

"We could have scored more goals but we were in control and it was a chance to take off Ashley and Jordan Jones to make sure they are fresh of Biggleswade."

Jim Mutton has returned to training after a long spell on the sidelines but Jamie Molyneux won't feature again after he was rushed back from a serious broken leg injury."
