LIAM McDonald said Redditch United will show no fear when they tackle high-flying Solihull Moors in the FA Trophy on Saturday.

The Reds’ boss acknowledges that his in-form side face their toughest game of the season at the Autotech Stadium but was in bullish mood.

Solihull are fifth in the Conference North and have won their last four home games.

They also boast the division’s top scorer in Omar Bogle, who has bagged 14 goals for the Moors and scored on his England C debut in last week’s 4-2 win over Estonia under-23s.

But Redditch will not be fazed after rising to third in the Southern League Premier following Saturday’s 2-0 win over Histon to make it just one defeat in 11 games.

United also boast their own scoring sensation in 14-goal hitman Jermaine Hylton.

“We know this is the toughest game we’ve had this season,” said McDonald.

“It’s going to be an entertaining game but we’ll be going there to win.

“Solihull will know they face a tough game, they won’t be looking forward to playing us.”

Jamie Spencer was set to miss last night’s Birmingham Senior Cup clash at Leamington after a receiving a bang on the head in the win over Histon, where Hylton and Dior Angus scored. He is expected to be okay for the Moors match.

McDonald said: “I praised the lads after Histon because it was a very professional performance.

“This was a game we could have lost but the players kept their focus and did the job.”

Meanwhile, midfielder Calvin Dinsley is set to join United from Stourport Swifts next week.

He has been given permission by Swifts to train with Redditch and will have joined in time for next Wednesday’s away clash against Corby Town.

McDonald added: “Calvin is someone I have looked at for a while and he will add to our midfield.”
