Rampant Reds end wretched run in style

Burnham 2, Redditch United 4
RAMPANT Reds romped to victory in this midweek thriller – bringing a stylish end to an eight-match winless run.
But they finished the game with just ten men and needed a last gasp strike from Ashley Sammons to finally see off their hosts.
Burnham opened the scoring on seven minutes when a foul on Ryan Blake by Leavi Oshungbure resulted in a penalty that James Dobson duly dispatched.
And they should have extended their lead seven minutes later when Tom Willment was left unmarked inside the area but proceeded to put his header over the target.
But as the half wore on, the Reds took control. Omari Sterling-James was denied by an excellent save from keeper Michael Watkins before Edwin Ahenkorah levelled on 35 minutes after good work by Sammons and Sterling-James.
Livewire Sterling-James then edged Redditch into the lead a minute before the break with a stunning 25-yard strike.
But a second penalty at the start of the second half, awarded following Nathan Jackson’s handball, allowed Dobson to level.
Jermaine Clarke restored United’s lead on 51 minutes after an Ahenkorah effort was not held by the Burnham keeper and Sterling-James was inches away from netting his second of the game.
Jackson harshly picked up a second yellow card on the hour and the home side almost took advantage with Louis Driver shooting just wide and Adam Martin having an effort cleared off the Redditch line by Joe Ballinger.
And then, with Burnham pushing for an equaliser, Sammons broke to score a fourth for the Reds to wrap up the points.
Reds: Catlow 7, Flanagan 7, Ballinger 7, OSHUNGBURE 9, Jackson 6, Mutton 6, Ahenkorah 7 (Hylton 90), Bridgewater 7 (Price 62, 5), Clarke 8, Sammons 8, Sterling-James 8 (Molyneux 70, 5). Subs (not used): McDonald, Hornby.
