Chippenham Town 2, Redditch United 3

Leavi Oshungbure’s last-minute winner helped Redditch to claim a vital win in their bid to beat relegation as they triumphed 3-2 at Chippenham Town.

Having been 2-1 down with just ten minutes remaining, the Reds scored twice late on through Jermaine Hylton and Oshungbure to secure maximum points.

While they remain in the bottom two, the result means they are now just one point away from climbing out of the relegation zone.

On a far from ideal playing surface, Redditch started brightly, in particular Hylton, who was making the step up from the reserves to lead the attack.

He should have opened the scoring on 11 minutes after latching on to Will Richards’ deft header, but Chippenham goalkeeper Ben John tipped his effort around the post.

The hosts then almost went ahead themselves when James Guthrie forced Bradley Catlow into a smart save.

They did manage to open the scoring after 28 minutes, Dean Griffiths finding space out wide before crossing for Alan Griffin to head home.

But the lead was short lived as, just seven minutes later, Richards found Hylton who evaded two defenders before whipping in a cross that was turned into his own net by Greg Tindle.

Richards went close early in the second half, but it was Chippenham who retook the lead on the hour as substitute Alex Kite fired in a low effort past Catlow.

They almost extended their lead as Griffin and Guthrie both shot wide, and they were left ruing their profligacy when Redditch conjured up a stunning late turnaround.

First Hylton coolly finished from six yards to level the scores before Oshungbure bundled in the winner in the closing moments.
