REDDITCH Road and Path Club’s excellent year continued after they scooped an accolade at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire County Awards last week.

The club’s slipstream under-16s racing team were named the junior outfit of the year during last week’s glittering ceremony at Worcester Warriors RFC.

That topped a fine 12 months for Redditch Road and Path Club, who also were named club of the year at the Borough Council awards in March.

The slipstream team is made up gifted group of young riders aged beween five and 16-years-old.

Among their acheivments they have obtained top five placings in national school cyclocross events and had champions in the regional hill climb championships.

The club has also had over 20 riders take part in the West Midlands Cyclocross League, which is one of the strongest in the country. Members also won Visitors Cup at the Halesowen Track League in the summer.

The slipstream team also took part in urban street sprints through the centre of Redditch.
