Redditch United 0, St Neots Town 0
A BATTLING display earned Redditch a share of the spoils against a St Neots side that had knocked them out of the Red Insure League Cup seven days earlier.
With Calum Flanagan and James Mutton solid at the heart of the defence, there were no opportunities for the visitors with home keeper Brad Catlow only forced into action late in the game.
It was the Reds who dominated the first period with Jermaine Hylton and Flanagan forcing saves from the visiting keeper Nathan Abbey.
But the best chance of the half came on 31 minutes when the excellent Ashley Sammons sent Omari Sterling-James clear but his shot was well saved.
The second half was a more even affair with Catlow being forced into action just short of the hour when he kept out a Jay Davies effort with his legs after some slick passing from the visitors.
With Sammons pulling the strings in midfield, Redditch saw plenty of the ball but struggled to get in behind the St Neots defence.
Their best effort came midway through the half when Hylton and Sterling-James passed their way into the box before releasing Sam Youngs but the midfielder could not get his shot away.
Flanagan tried his luck with a 25-yard free-kick late on but it was pushed away by the keeper and then hoofed clear.
