p> REDDITCH United assistant manager Mickey Moore has had his first meeting with Gary Whild and confirmed they are looking to strengthen the squad for next season.
Whilst the pair want to keep all of last season’s squad they are looking to add some experienced players to the mix of youngsters which finished the 2008-09 term.
Moore specialises in coaching young players, and has already worked with teenager Jack Byrne at Solihull Moors and Stratford Town.
He said Byrne, and the likes of Bradley Bullimore would feature heavily next season, but the squad also needed to be strengthened to deal with the riguors of Conference North.
Moore said: “We have an established youth system here and that is going to play a big part in bringing players through to the first team slowly but surely.
“Some of the youngsters who played last season are very experienced, like Jack , who is only 19 yet has over 100 appearances under his belt in senior football.
“But they need support over the course of a season and Gary and I sat down to look at some players we might be able to bring in before the start of pre-season.
“Having played for Redditch myself, I know the type of player the supporters here like and expect to see – at the very least they want a hard working and committed outfit on the field.
“This is the type of team we will be looking to build but we can’t compete with the likes of Telford so fans might have to be a little bit patient, but it will happen.”
* Redditch have launched a new official website which will be updated on a daily basis.
It is online now and can be accessed at www.redditchutdfc.co.uk.
