TIM Harris has challenged his Redditch United players to maintain the performance levels they reached against the league's top teams.

The boss at the Trico Stadium has been pleased with the attitude of his squad despite a tough run of fixtures against high-flying Hereford, King's Lynn, Chesham United Royston and Weymouth.

Reds put a host of narrow defeats to one side when they beat play-off chasing Royston last Wednesday.

They couldn't back that up against Weymouth on Saturday but Harris wants his side to reproduce the performance levels when they travel to teams at the other end of the Southern Premier League table.

They were due to face St Ives Town away on Tuesday before going to St Neots Town this Saturday.

Harris said: "I was very pleased with the Royston win because they are a good side and really pushed us.

"We showed the right desire and commitment.

"Weymouth are clearly a good side to be on 90 points at this stage but in the second half we were the team asking all the questions and had the chances to win it.

"The challenge now is the back up those performances this week so we can end the season well.

"I'll be setting the players a target and I'll expect that to be achieved. Hopefully a few more wins will see us finish in decent position."

Ash Sammons remains doubtful but Tyler Weir should return for Saturday.
