FORLORN Vaughan Pearshouse admitted he'll be glad see the back of this season after Studley suffered another weekend on the sidelines.

Proposed games against Coventry Copsewood and Pershore Town both fell victim to the wet weather leaving Studley with 12 league games to fit in before the end of April.

Pearshouse said: "I don't think the Midland League have much choice left but to extend the season because I simply do not know how they're going to fit all the games in.

"The Pershore postponement was the 13th game we've had called off this season, which is absolutely crazy. I've never known anything quite like it.

"Although we keep plodding on, all the players are getting extremely frustrated now. They just want to play football.

"With so many games to fit into such a short space of time, you won't get a fair reflection anymore. It will simply be a case of who is available to play.

"Thankfully Matt Dorgan works with Birmingham City's Development Squad and we've been able to get a couple of their Under-18 players to act as cover".

Pearshouse was keeping his fingers crossed that this week's game against Littleton goes ahead, having already been called off twice.

On Saturday, Studley are due to travel to high flying Ilkeston which is then followed by a string of five home games.

Studley have also lost the services of midfield man Michael McGrath who has returned to parent club Hereford.

But he did manage a couple of appearances against Racing Club Warwick and Nuneaton Griff.

Pearshouse added: "He was class and did really well. It's just a pity he couldn't have played more games for us".
