REDDITCH Borough couldn't believe their bad luck in front of goal against fourth placed Northfield Town this week.
After Josh McGinley had headed Northfield into an early lead Borough then proceeded to squander a series of clear-cut chances.
Will Skelton fired wide from a Billy Garvey cross when it seemed easier to score.
Skelton was also off-target with a close range header just before half time.
Harry Rogers then miscued in front of goal after the interval while Mike Capewell also missed out when firing over.
Garvey also struck the crossbar with a free kick as Northfield's goal continued to lead a charmed life.
But Garvey was also given his marching orders following a mass brawl which also saw Northfield receive three yellow cards and their manager dismissed.
Borough boss Julian Workman said: "There should have been some more red cards, because there were punches thrown. But we only had ourselves to blame for losing this game. Some of the missed chances looked even worse when we watched them on video."
Garvey has returned to Borough's ranks following a brief spell at Studley, having first joined the club as a seven-year-old.
Borough bid to bounce back this Saturday when they entertain Pelsall Villa who are rock bottom in Midland League Two.
