CHARLOTTE Gilmartin's Winter Olympics began in dramatic fashion with the Redditch speed skater crashing out in the women's 500m short track heats.
She was also subsequently disqualified after judges ruled she was responsible for the collision between the Russian and Hungarian athletes.
Gilmartin initially limped away from the crash mat but was able to leave the ice and will now have to focus on her stronger 1000m and 1500m distances in Pyeongchang.
