BOSS Tim Harris is keen to add much-needed experience to help his Redditch United side see games out.

Reds twice took the lead at home to Hitchin Town last Saturday but were twice pegged back as the clash ended all square.

Goals from Adam Davie, who netted on his debut, and Stuart Fleetwood weren't enough for United to take all three points. Their task was made tougher following left-back Jordan Mills' red card early in the second half.

Both Davie and Mills came in from Derby County to help bolster Harris' squad ahead of the weekend.

However, the manager now wants more experienced players after seeing is side fail to hold on to their lead at the weekend.

He said: "The game summed up where we are at the moment.

"It was another committed performance but there were still a couple of things that cost us.

"We are not mentally strong enough just yet to see games out.

"There is no doubt that we need to add more experience to help us with that.

"We want to keep working and hopefully we can start planning for next season. Hopefully the fans can embrace that as well and understand the work we are doing to try and build a team.

"We're in a difficult zone at this stage of the season where a lot of clubs are trying to get players in to get out of the league or stay in it but we're not one of them.

"We are in a place where there is no pressure on us and that can help.

"We need to get a lot more experience in because the squad is also quite thin at the moment."

Redditch are due to take on Slough away on Tuesday before going to St Ives Town this Saturday.

Nathan Fox, Lewis Wright are still doubtful but Louis Ezewele is fit again.
