TIM Harris thinks it's only a matter of time before his hard-working Redditch United players are rewarded with wins.

Reds suffered a last-gasp 1-0 defeat at Frome Town last Saturday as their winless run extended to four games.

However, their manager was full of praise for the commitment shown by his side and thinks the hard work will pay off.

He said: "I can't fault the lads' effort on a glue-pot of a pitch at Frome.

"Without a doubt we deserved to get something from the game and it was disappointing we couldn't hold on.

"We had two or three good chances in the first half let alone the second.

"It was a good game in difficult conditions but we have had to come away with nothing after their led found the bottom corner late on.

"The players are working really hard at the moment and hopefully that hard work will start to show.

"Football is simple sometimes and we need to maintain that and then take a few more of our chances.

"The effort and commitment of the players has been brilliant and if we maintain that then we'll be just fine."

United are due to take on Didcot Town away in the Challenge Cup on Tuesday night before Hitchin Town visit the Trico Stadium this Saturday (3pm kick-off) Louis Ezewele and Adam Page should recover from injury to return for the weekend but Lewis Wright (groin) and Nathan Fox (hamstring) won't feature.

"We've got a few walking wounded at the moment and that hasn't helped us," added Harris. "We've looked at the squad now but we can't just go out and replace two or three of our best players, it's not that simple.

"We're always trying and improve things and we'll keep looking."
